On December 14, 2011, the members of Winthrop Federal Credit Union (WFCU) voted at a meeting on the proposal to merge with Webster First Federal Credit Union (Webster First) of Worcester. By majority vote, Winthrop Federal Credit Union will be taking a new direction in the coming months which will culminate in a strategic partnership with Webster First. The merger will be legally effective December 31st, 2011, but there will be no noticeable changes in service of your accounts until March, 2012.
